Due to COVID-19 our sea ice testing has been deplayed. We’re remaining positive with the hope that we’ll begin testing our climate restoration solution on Arctic sea ice in the winter of 2020. We will utilize the University of Manitoba’s Sea-ice Environmental Research Facility (SERF) in Winnipeg, Canada.

Once it does begin, this will be an extremely significant step forward for our climate restoration work. Under rigorously controlled conditions at this contained experimental site, these tests will provide the highest quality data to date about the performance of our Arctic sea ice albedo modification solution.
Your generous donations and a growing network of connections with sea ice experts worldwide will allow our team to undertake these tests, which follow years of small-scale lake tests in multiple United States locations, including Alaska.

The SERF site is already equipped with a standard instrument package for scientific testing, and our team will bring additional customized equipment to measure albedo (reflectivity) in the visible and infrared spectral ranges.
This effort at the SERF facility, in conjunction with laboratory tests, will enable us to make further strides in our work to develop and test safe and effective albedo modification to preserve and restore Arctic sea ice.
